After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Nutley, Caldwell was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 9-5 win over the West Orange Mountaineers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-0 on April 7th.

Dante Placenti was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Santino Russo, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Caldwell's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for West Orange, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 7-5.

Coming up, Caldwell will head out on the road to square off against Rumson-Fair Haven at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for West Orange, they will challenge Montclair Kimberley Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
