Recap: South View Tigers vs. Gray's Creek Bears
The South View Tigers entered their tilt with the Gray's Creek Bears with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. South View came out on top in a nail-biter against Gray's Creek on Friday and snuck past 48-45. This was payback for South View, who suffered a 50-45 loss the last time these two teams met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South View to victory, but perhaps none more so than Antrell Gilmore, who scored 13 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Anthony Farrior, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Gray's Creek's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zeek Reed, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Reed has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last six times he's played. Ashton Dorsey was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Even though they lost, Gray's Creek were working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South View only racked up four assists.
South View's victory bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Gray's Creek, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15.
South View will head out on the road to face off against Cape Fear at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully South View focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Friday.
