Basketball Recap: Kylee Hunt's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Timber Creek over Byron Nelson

Timber Creek suffered their closest loss since January 12, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of the Byron Nelson Bobcat by a score of 48-45. The Falcons have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Timber Creek lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kylee Hunt, who posted nine points. Hunt is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Elena Gonzalez was another key player, putting up eight points.

Even though they lost, Timber Creek smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Byron Nelson was led to victory by Kennedy Moss and Belle Ratliff. Moss put up 13 points, while Ratliff dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Kinsey Morris, who scored six points and three steals.

Timber Creek's record now sits at 18-10. As for Byron Nelson, they pushed their record up to 20-8 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home.
