Baseball Recap: Reedsport Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Reedsport extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping their season record up to 10-1 in the process. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Toledo Boomers, sneaking past 9-7. That's more bragging rights for Reedsport, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

As for Toledo, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss they have suffered since May 1, 2024.

For Toledo's part, Connor Mason put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. That's the fewest earned runs Mason has allowed since back in March. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Toledo is 3-1 when Mason posts two or more runs, but 5-6 otherwise.

In other batting news, Kolby Coxen made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Reedsport is set to square off against their familiar foe Eddyville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Toledo will take on rival Myrtle Point at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
