Baseball Game Preview: South Sevier Rams vs. Enterprise Wolves

South Sevier and Enterprise are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2017, but likely not for long. The Rams will challenge the Wolves at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (South Sevier 2.8, Enterprise 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.

South Sevier is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top against San Juan by a score of 9-5. The win continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Broncos: they've now won eight in a row.

South Sevier got a great performance from Stockton Roberts as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Roberts a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Peyton Ingram was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. Another player making a difference was Cannon Barney, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

Meanwhile, Enterprise fell victim to Beaver and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Beavers. The Wolves' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

South Sevier's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Enterprise, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-7.

South Sevier came out on top in a nail-biter against Enterprise when the teams last played back in March, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
