Soccer Game Preview: Rice Consolidated vs. El Campo

Rice Consolidated is 1-9 against El Campo since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Raiders will host the Ricebirds at 5:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Rice Consolidated's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Palacios 3-0. That's two games straight that Rice Consolidated have won by exactly three goals.

Meanwhile, El Campo got the win against Hallettsville on Monday by a conclusive 8-2. The result was nothing new for El Campo, who have now won ten contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Hallettsville from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Orinson Artica led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for four goals all by himself.

El Campo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 51 goals over those nine matchups. As for Rice Consolidated, their win bumped their record up to 11-12-1.
