Basketball Game Preview: Fillmore Central Falcons vs. Dover-Eyota Eagles

It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Fillmore Central Falcons take on the Dover-Eyota Eagles at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday... Fillmore Central is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Fillmore Central came up short against Blooming Prairie on Saturday, falling 66-42.

Meanwhile, Dover-Eyota posted their biggest victory since January 18th on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 69-47 margin over Wabasha-Kellogg. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Eagles have posted against the Falcons since February 6, 2020.

Fillmore Central better focus on containing Mat Matejka and Luke Meyers as the pair were huge in Dover-Eyota's win. Matejka posted 21 points, while Meyers had 18 points. The game was Matejka's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alshawn Eaton, who put up 11 points.

Fillmore Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Dover-Eyota, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Fillmore Central beat Dover-Eyota 72-62 in their previous meeting back in January. Will Fillmore Central repeat their success, or does Dover-Eyota have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
