Preview: Wheeler County Bulldogs vs. Wilcox County Patriots
Wheeler County is 1-8 against Wilcox County since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Wheeler County Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Wilcox County Patriots at 6:00 p.m. Wheeler County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 485th, while Wilcox County is ranked 114th).
Last Tuesday, Wheeler County took a serious blow against East Laurens, falling 61-29. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Wheeler County in their matchups with East Laurens: they've now lost six in a row.
Shiann Carey was Wheeler County's leading scorer, having posted 12 points.

Elia Delgado took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.
Meanwhile, Wilcox County waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with five straight wins but they left with six. They were the clear victor by a 57-33 margin over Telfair County. Wilcox County has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 21 points or more this season.
Wheeler County's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-18. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.0 points per game. As for Wilcox County, their win bumped their record up to 20-2.
Wheeler County ended up a good deal behind Wilcox County in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, losing 35-19. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Wilcox County's Tyliah Benjamin, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 17 rebounds.
