Baseball Recap: Hermitage Hermits vs. Columbia Christian Crusaders
Hermitage extended their losing streak to nine on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-9. They lost 15-4 to the Columbia Christian Crusaders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Crusaders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-0 back in March.
As for Columbia Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games.
For Columbia Christian's part, Trek Mitchell and Ruston Hern did most of the damage at the plate: Mitchell went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Hern went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those three stolen bases gave Mitchell a new career-high. Jon David Baker also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
