Basketball Recap: Allegany Gets Big Win over Higher-Ranked Keyser

Allegany won the last time they faced Keyser and things went their way on Friday too. The Allegany Campers came out on top against the Keyser Golden Tornado by a score of 61-53. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Campers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 220th in Maryland, while the Golden Tornado are ranked 78th in West Virginia).

Keyser's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braylon Mcgreevy, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Kameron Samples, who posted ten points.

Allegany has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Keyser, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

Allegany has already played their next game (against Northern Garrett), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Keyser didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-45 loss against Hampshire on the 4th.
