Cary Academy and St. Mary are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2021, but not for long. The Chargers will take on the Saints at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Cary Academy is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Cary Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 27-29, 25-22, 25-16, 25-21.

Meanwhile, St. Mary's came into Friday's match having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Grace Christian by a score of 3-1 on Friday.

St. Mary's walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-15, 16-25, 26-24.

Cary Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for St. Mary's, their victory bumped their record up to 4-10.

Cary Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against St. Mary's when the teams last played two weeks ago, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chargers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
