Baseball Recap: Dupont Manual Wins Going Away Against Butler

DuPont Manual barely beat Butler the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Crimsons were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Bears on Wednesday. The Crimsons haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Cashton Zuberer looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because DuPont Manual is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 7-12 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Preston Jolly was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases and three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since April 1st. Nick Ballard was another key player, going 3-for-5 with one triple, one run, and one double.

DuPont Manual's victory bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Butler, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. DuPont Manual will take on Woodford County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Butler, they will challenge DeSales at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bears are facing the Colts at the right time seeing as the Colts are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
