Basketball Game Preview: Seymour Panthers vs. Hawley Bearcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Panthers face off against the Bearcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Seymour will be looking to extend their current 15-game winning streak.

Last Tuesday, everything came up roses for Seymour against Archer City as the team secured a 68-32 victory. With the Panthers ahead 40-9 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Hawley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Everything went their way against Stamford on Tuesday as Hawley made off with a 60-38 win. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Bearcats considering their 30-point performance the game before.

Hawley has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 14-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points over those games. As for Seymour, their victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 28-3.

Seymour beat Hawley 60-49 in their previous meeting back in February of 2021. Will Seymour repeat their success, or does Hawley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
