While American was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Hialeah Gardens' winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-17, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Hialeah-Miami Lakes got the win against MAST Academy on Monday by a conclusive 3-0.

Hialeah-Miami Lakes never let MAST Academy on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-12, 28-26.

American's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Hialeah-Miami Lakes, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6.

American suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Hialeah-Miami Lakes in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
