Brother Rice had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They didn't even let the St. Francis Spartans on the board, marking their second-straight 2-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 on May 1st.

Brother Rice easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-15.

John Mikrut paced Brother Rice's offense, picking up 14 kills. Mikrut got some help from Matthew Phelan and his 31 assists.

Brother Rice's record now sits at 28-6. As for St. Francis, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-21 record this season.

Brother Rice didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Marist on the 19th. As for St. Francis, they will host Lyons at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
