Recap: Tunkhannock Tigers vs. Towanda Black Knights
The Tunkhannock Tigers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 55-7 defeat at the hands of Towanda. Tunkhannock was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 26-0.
Rylie Vanderpool continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Towanda, rushing for 110 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 105 yards and a touchdown on only nine passes. Jazick Brown was in the mix too, providing Towanda with two touchdowns.
Towanda's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. Leading the way was Edan Flynn and his two sacks.
Tunkhannock has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Towanda, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.
Tunkhannock will be playing at home against Williamsport at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. As for Towanda, they will head out on the road to face off against Wyalusing Valley at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th.
