Basketball Game Preview: San Antonio Memorial Minutemen vs. Gonzales Apaches

The San Antonio Memorial Minutemen are taking a road trip to take on the Gonzales Apaches at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. San Antonio Memorial hasn't scored more than 25 points for seven games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

San Antonio Memorial is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against John F. Kennedy on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. San Antonio Memorial was beaten by John F. Kennedy 60-25. The Minutemen were down 42-20 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Gonzales got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They escaped with a win on Friday against John F. Kennedy by the margin of a single free throw, 44-43.

Gonzales' victory bumped their record up to 13-15. As for San Antonio Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 2-20.

San Antonio Memorial was taken down by Gonzales 53-23 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can San Antonio Memorial avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
