Baseball Recap: Wrightstown Wins Going Away Against Freedom

While Wrightstown didn't have the best season last year (they finished 1-5), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against the Freedom Irish on Thursday as they made off with a 10-1 win. Considering the Tigers have won four games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Ryan Leahy, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Vande Hey, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Wrightstown has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Freedom, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Looking ahead, Wrightstown will face off against Fond du Lac at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Freedom, they will challenge Denmark at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
