Softball Recap: Milford Takes a Loss

Milford fell victim to Kings and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 2-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-6 back in April.

Milford saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddie Varner, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Milford and nudges their season record down to 12-9. As for Kings, the win was the 19th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Milford will face off against rival Anderson at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Kings is set to challenge their familiar foe Walnut Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in the Knights' favor as the squad sits on 24 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Eagles have been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
