Basketball Game Preview: Ridgemont Golden Gophers vs. Minster Wildcats

The Ridgemont Golden Gophers will head out to take on the Minster Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ridgemont will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Ridgemont saw some tournament action on Friday. They walked away with a 48-41 victory over Jefferson.

Meanwhile, Minster didn't have too much trouble with Hardin Northern on Friday as they won 69-50. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 182nd, while the Polar Bears are ranked 622nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Minster is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.6 points over those games. Ridgemont pushed their record up to 18-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Ridgemont took a serious blow against Minster in their previous meeting back in February of 2022, falling 66-39. Can Ridgemont avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
