Basketball Recap: Uplift Elevate Prep Skates Past Varsity Opponent with Ease

Uplift Elevate Prep entered their tilt with Varsity Opponent on Friday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past Varsity Opponent, posting an 81-31 victory. That's the seventh time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 57-45 victory on Wednesday.

Leading Uplift Elevate Prep to victory were Brian Bowie and Sir Titan Tasby. Bowie shot 67% from the field en route to 25 points and five steals, while Tasby went 7-for-9 on his way to 14 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. The game was Bowie's third in a row with at least 20 points. Ian Mendoza was another key player, putting up six points and six steals.

Uplift Elevate Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

Uplift Elevate Prep's win bumped their record up to 11-3.

Varsity Opponent wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 63-61 loss against Bullard on the 12th.
