Baseball Recap: Brooke Victorious

Brooke won the last time they faced North Marion and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bruins walked away with a 5-2 win over the Huskies. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bruins.

Andrew Murdock made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). Brooke is 6-1 when Murdock allows one or fewer earned runs, but 11-12 otherwise. Murdock was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.

In other batting news, Zac O'Mery was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and three runs. He is becoming a predictor of Brooke's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 11-1 (and 6-12 when he doesn't).

Brooke's record is now 17-13. As for North Marion, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-12.

As of now, neither Brooke nor the Huskies have any future games scheduled.
