Basketball Game Preview: Center-Stanton Wildcats vs. New Salem Holsteins

The Center-Stanton Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the New Salem Holsteins at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Center-Stanton will be strutting in after a victory while New Salem will be coming in after a defeat.

Center-Stanton took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They took down Mandaree 41-26.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 83-29, which was the final score in New Salem's tilt against Central McLean [Turtle Lake-Mercer/Underwood/McClusky] on Saturday. The Holsteins haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Center-Stanton picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 3-18. As for New Salem, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12.

Center-Stanton couldn't quite finish off New Salem when the teams last played two weeks ago and fell 39-36. Can Center-Stanton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
