Jordan Brown leads a balanced attack to beat McCurdy

Recap: Moriarty Pintos vs. McCurdy Bobcats

The Moriarty Pintos can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They managed a 59-53 win over McCurdy. The win was just what Moriarty needed coming off of a 57-28 defeat in their prior contest.

Moriarty's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Brown, who scored 15 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jahkeem Graham, who scored 14 points.

When it comes to explaining why McCurdy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lucas Martinez. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points along with three steals. Martinez is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jeremaya Roybal, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.

Moriarty's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-6. As for McCurdy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Moriarty on the road again on Friday and play against Santa Fe Indian at 8:00 p.m. on January 12th. Santa Fe Indian will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for McCurdy, they will head out on the road to square off against Laguna Acoma at 1:15 p.m. on Friday. Laguna Acoma is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
