Baseball Recap: Daniel Boone Takes a Loss

After flying high against West Ridge last Monday, Daniel Boone came back down to earth. The Trailblazers fell just short of the Science Hill Hilltoppers by a score of 6-4 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Trailblazers have suffered against the Hilltoppers since March 19, 2024.

T J Leonard stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Jackson McCurry, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

Daniel Boone's defeat dropped their record down to 20-8-1. As for Science Hill, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 22-8.

Coincidentally, Daniel Boone and Science Hill will both be playing Elizabethton the next time they take the field. The Trailblazers will host the Fighting Cyclones at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Hilltoppers will host them on Friday.
