Chatham put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 50-33 victory over the Halifax County Comets. Given the Cavaliers' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Comets are ranked 203rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Chatham got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jakiyah Giggetts out in front who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 boards. Giggetts is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in the last 11 games she's played dating back to last season. Sydney Ward was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 17 boards.

Chatham's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0. As for Halifax County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Chatham wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 36-30 win against Patrick County on the 17th. As for Halifax County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-42 loss against Tunstall on the 17th.
