Football Game Preview: Sidney Eagles vs. Lockwood LIONS + How To Watch

Sidney is 0-3 against Lockwood since September of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Eagles will look to defend their home field against the LIONS at 7:00 p.m. Sidney is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Sidney is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Montana's top teams: Custer County, who was ranked 25th at the time (Sidney was ranked 17th). The Eagles strolled past the Cowboys with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 21-6.

Gradin Sukut was his usual excellent self, rushing for 80 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for 136 yards on 12 of 17 attempts. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making four total tackles and defending two passes in addition to snagging two interceptions. Sidney also got a significant boost from Aaron Schmitz, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 86 yards.

Sidney didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Sukut and Schmitz.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 36 points the game before, Lockwood was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They were beaten by Billings Central Catholic 42-7. The defeat continues a trend for the LIONS in their meetings with the Rams: they've now lost four in a row.

Sidney's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Lockwood, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
