Football Recap: Scottsbluff Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Scottsbluff won the last time they faced Lexington and Nate Kelley did his part to make sure it happened again. The Bearcats simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Minutemen 56-7 with plenty of help from Kelley, who rushed for 177 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine carries. His longest rush was for an incredible 75 yards.

One reason for the win was Scottsbluff's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Kobe Strom and Riley Stricker, who each picked up 0.5 sacks apiece.

Scottsbluff pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.8 points over those games. As for Lexington, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Scottsbluff will head out on the road to challenge Gering at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' defense has only allowed 10.5 points per game this season, so the Bearcats' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Lexington, they will welcome Alliance on Friday.
