Softball Recap: Pioneer Comes Up Short

Pioneer lost against Live Oak back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Mustangs lost 13-1 to the Acorns. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Pioneer saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gizelle Ortiz, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Pioneer's loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Live Oak, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Pioneer will square off against rival Oak Grove at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Live Oak is set to challenge their familiar foe Piedmont Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Acorns 1.6, the Pirates 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
