Recap: Ridge Spring-Monetta Trojans vs. Hunter-Kinard-Tyler Trojans
The Ridge Spring-Monetta Trojans suffered their biggest defeat since December 12, 2023 on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 62-21 loss at the hands of Hunter-Kinard-Tyler. Ridge Spring-Monetta has struggled against Hunter-Kinard-Tyler recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Ridge Spring-Monetta saw an underclassman step up: Sariya Geyer scored four points along with 12 rebounds.
Ridge Spring-Monetta's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Hunter-Kinard-Tyler, they pushed their record up to 11-3 with that victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ridge Spring-Monetta won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Calhoun County at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. As for Hunter-Kinard-Tyler, they will head out on the road to face off against Blackville-Hilda at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Blackville-Hilda focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Tuesday.
