Basketball Game Preview: Jack Britt Buccaneers vs. Purnell Swett Rams

Jack Britt and Purnell Swett are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2021, but not for long. Having just played yesterday, the Jack Britt Buccaneers will get right back to it and host the Purnell Swett Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Jack Britt and five for Purnell Swett.

Jack Britt fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against South View on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 63-54 to the Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Buccaneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 281st, while the Tigers are ranked 34th).

Meanwhile, Purnell Swett played a tough contest on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 73-38 loss at the hands of Lumberton. The Rams were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-10.

Jack Britt's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Purnell Swett, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.
