The Oklahoma Union Cougars will take on the Mounds Golden Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Mounds took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Oklahoma Union, who comes in off a win.
Oklahoma Union barely beat Cleveland the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Tigers on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won eight matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Bodee West made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, four stolen bases, and three runs.
In other batting news, Nathan Dean was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Pierce, who went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Oklahoma Union always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Mounds' offense. They lost 12-0 to Stroud on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Golden Eagles in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost seven in a row.
Mounds' defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Oklahoma Union, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 13-10.
Oklahoma Union came out on top in a nail-biter against Mounds when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 6-5. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Golden Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
