Volleyball Recap: Boling Takes a Loss

If Boling was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Hitchcock on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brazos Cougars on Tuesday. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

While Boling had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-22, 17-25, 25-18.

Among those leading the charge was Maddie Pailes, who had seven digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last six matchups.

Boling's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Brazos, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-15 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Boling will face off against rival East Bernard at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Brazos is set to take on their familiar foe Van Vleck at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
