Basketball Preview: Littleton Lions vs. Standley Lake Gators
Littleton and Standley Lake are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Littleton Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Standley Lake Gators at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Littleton is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Pomona 65-17 on Friday. With the Lions ahead 39-9 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Littleton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Vicky Whitney out in front who posted nine points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance gave Whitney a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lena Drakos, who went 6 of 11 to rack up 15 points.
Meanwhile, Standley Lake entered their tilt with Conifer on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Lobos 57-23. The Gators have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 30 points or more this season.
Littleton's win bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Standley Lake, their victory bumped their record up to 17-3.
Littleton came up short against Standley Lake when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 62-58. Can Littleton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
