Baseball Recap: Annapolis Has No Trouble Against Romulus

Annapolis won the last time they faced Romulus and things went their way on Monday too. The Cougars were the clear victors by an 18-3 margin over the Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won five matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

Annapolis let Shawn Guerrero and Kayden Shoemaker run wild. Guerrero got on base in all three of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Shoemaker got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three runs gave Guerrero a new career-high. Brayden Wallace also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Annapolis was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .562. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Annapolis and bumps their season record up to 5-11. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Romulus, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

Annapolis will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair will be back at it again later today.
