Football Recap: Levelland Runs Past Lake View

Levelland won the last time they faced Lake View and things went their way on Friday too. The Lobos walked away with a 40-33 victory over the Chiefs/Maidens. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lobos.

Noah Martin had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 197 yards and two scores while picking up 11.6 yards per carry. Those 197 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Bryson Golightly was another key player, picking up 148 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Levelland was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 279 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 192 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, Lake View still got an impressive performance from Izaiah Rios, who rushed for 119 yards and one TD, and also picked up 49 receiving yards and one score. Rios' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 119 rushing yards. Lake View also got help from Braylon White, who showed off his sure hands for 118 receiving yards.

Levelland now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Lake View, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Looking ahead, Levelland will challenge Snyder at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lobos will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 46 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Lake View, they will face off against Burnet at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
