Preview: Austin Achieve vs. Jarrell
The Austin Achieve Polar Bears will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against the Jarrell Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Austin Achieve will be strutting in after a win while Jarrell will be coming in after a defeat.
After a 10-1 finish the last time they played, Austin Achieve and Florence decided to play a little more cautiously this time around. Austin Achieve never let Florence onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Friday.
Austin Achieve was led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Antonio Gutierrez and
Manny Aranda, who scored both of Austin Achieve's goals. Those were goals were season-firsts for both players.
Meanwhile, Jarrell was the victim of a tough 5-1 loss at the hands of Marble Falls on Friday. While losing is never fun, Jarrell can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 599th, while Marble Falls is ranked 146th).
Austin Achieve now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Jarrell, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4-5.
Everything went Austin Achieve's way against Jarrell when the teams last played back in March of 2023 as Austin Achieve made off with a 6-0 win. Will Austin Achieve repeat their success, or does Jarrell have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
