Emma Brown made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times she's played. South Central hadn't beaten New London on the road since May 16, 2023 but that history sure didn't bother them on Thursday. The Trojans blew past the Wildcats 11-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Trojans have posted against the Wildcats since May 13, 2022.

Viola Culler made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Culler was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, South Central got a massive performance out of Zaida Myers, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI Myers has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sydnee Middaugh, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

The victory made it two in a row for South Central and bumps their season record up to 5-14. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Lucas, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lucas has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like South Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Lucas came up short against South Central in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 5-2. Will the Cubs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
