Soccer Game Preview: Potomac Falls vs. Lightridge

Potomac Falls is 0-6 against Lightridge since April of 2024 but things could change on Tuesday. The Panthers will challenge the Lightning at 6:00 p.m. Potomac Falls has given up an average of 3.5 goals per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Friday just wasn't the day for Potomac Falls' offense. They lost 9-0 to Woodbridge on Friday.

Meanwhile, Lightridge hadn't done well against Briar Woods recently (they were 0-8-1 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Lightning never let the Falcons get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. Lightridge's winning goal came courtesy of Bryn Overbaugh.

The win made it two in a row for Lightridge and bumps their season record up to 9-5-3. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two matches. As for Potomac Falls, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-16-1.

Potomac Falls might still be hurting after the 5-1 loss they got from Lightridge when the teams last played back in April. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
