Basketball Game Preview: Crosspointe Christian Academy Panthers vs. Calvary Christian EAGLES

The Crosspointe Christian Academy Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Calvary Christian EAGLES at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Crosspointe Christian Academy has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Calvary Christian will arrive with five straight wins.

Last Tuesday, Crosspointe Christian Academy came up short against First Baptist Christian and fell 61-49.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Phil Fitzsimmons, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 15 boards. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in blocks (three). Another player making a difference was Coltenn Wagner, who posted 19 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Calvary Christian challenged Tabernacle Christian on Tuesday. Calvary Christian claimed a resounding 82-31 victory over Tabernacle Christian. The EAGLES have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Calvary Christian's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-6. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points over those games. As for Crosspointe Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.

Crosspointe Christian Academy came up short against Calvary Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 54-45. Can Crosspointe Christian Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
