Ava Lord made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kayla Brom, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Emma Dougherty was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
Mount Horeb's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Dodgeville, their win bumped their record up to an identical 6-3.
