Harris County is on a ten-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Jefferson is on a eight-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Harris County Tigers will take on the Jefferson Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
With a playoff game on the line, Harris County rose to the challenge on Friday. They breezed by the Blue Devils at home to the tune of 42-7. 42 seems to be a good number for Harris County as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Harris County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mataye Youman, who rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Levi Watson, who threw for 181 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes.
Another reason for the win was Harris County's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Holden Hajek was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.
Meanwhile, Jefferson got the win against Hiram on Friday by a conclusive 42-21.
Their wins bumped Harris County to 11-1 and Statesboro to 4-8.
