Volleyball Recap: Kimberly Falls Despite Big Games from Emma Tesch and Finley Van Lannen

Kimberly lost against Waukesha West back in September of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Papermakers fell just short of the Wolverines by a score of 2-1.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Kimberly sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-16, 19-25, 16-14.

Kimberly's loss came despite strong showings from Finley Van Lannen and Emma Tesch. Van Lannen had 15 digs, while Tesch had eight assists and three aces. Van Lannen is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least ten every time she's taken the court this season.

Kimberly's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Waukesha West, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Kimberly didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Pewaukee on the 30th. As for Waukesha West, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Arrowhead at 6:30 p.m. on September 16.
