            The Horizon Scorpions will face off against the El Paso Tigers at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Horizon is looking for their season's first  victory.
Horizon is headed into the  contest out to prove that what happened against Del Valle  on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Scorpions took a  blow against the Conquistadores, falling  52-22. The Scorpions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at  42-6.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from  Mauricio Payan, who threw for 150 yards and two  touchdowns.
 Even if they lost, Horizon's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess:  Roberto Valdez,  Adrian Partida,  and  Juan Lopez, who each picked up one  sack apiece.
 Meanwhile, El Paso had to suffer through  a    48-6 loss at the hands of Hanks. The Tigers have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
 El Paso's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Horizon, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.
 Horizon might still be hurting after the  39-14 defeat they got from El Paso  in their previous meeting  back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Scorpions,  Martin Gonzalez (who threw for 335 yards and a pair of  TDs, and also rushed for 63 yards and two  scores) won't be suiting up this time.
