Basketball Game Preview: Glenn Bobcats vs. R.J. Reynolds Demons

Two dominant guards in Zyire Murphy and Grant Burns are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Glenn Bobcats are taking a road trip to square off against the R.J. Reynolds Demons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Glenn will be strutting in after a victory while R.J. Reynolds will be coming in after a defeat.

Glenn's tournament run continued when they took on Cummings on Saturday. Glenn came out on top against Cummings by a score of 50-43.

Meanwhile, R.J. Reynolds scored the most points they've had this season last Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 75-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of Carver. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (59), the Demons still had to take the loss.

Glenn will have to contain Burns as he made an impact in R.J. Reynolds' last game. He went 8 for 19 on his way to 24 points and eight rebounds. Andreas Kazakos was another key player, going 5 of 8 on his way to 13 points and four steals.

Even though they lost, R.J. Reynolds smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Glenn has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for R.J. Reynolds, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.

Glenn came up short against R.J. Reynolds when the teams last played back in February, falling 63-51. Can Glenn avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
