Baseball Recap: St. John's Comes Up Short

St. John fell victim to Gainesville and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 1-0. The Cadets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

St. John's has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-4-1 record this season. As for Gainesville, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Looking ahead, St. John's will face off against Gulf Coast at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cadets 3.9, the Sharks 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Gainesville, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Unity Reed at 6:00 p.m.
