Basketball Recap: Rock Island Snags Third Win in Last Four Games

On Tuesday, the Rock Island Rocks beat the Manual Rams 68-55.

Despite the loss, Manual still got an impressive performance from Nyanna Payton, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 16 boards. That's the most rebounds Payton has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ma'Kya Maxwell, who posted ten points in addition to six assists and five boards.

Rock Island has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-13 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points per game. As for Manual, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 18-10.

Rock Island will take on Moline at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Manual, they will face off against Richwoods at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Richwoods' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
