The Lompoc Braves will head out on the road to challenge the Righetti Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lompoc is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.

Righetti will be up against a hot Lompoc team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Lompoc was the clear victor by a 9-0 margin over Cabrillo on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Braves, who have now won four matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

Alex Brooks was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Brooks was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rianna Stouppe, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lola Soukup, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Righetti fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Arroyo Grande on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The Warriors' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Lompoc's record is now 7-1. As for Righetti, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-3.

Lompoc couldn't quite finish off Righetti in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can Lompoc avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
