Baseball Recap: Archbishop Murphy Takes a Loss

Archbishop Murphy extended their losing streak to seven on Thursday, dropping them down to 5-13-1. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Edmonds-Woodway Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, with their most recent defeat being a 6-4 loss last Friday.

Archbishop Murphy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zach Boucek, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

As for Edmonds-Woodway, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games.

On Edmonds-Woodway's side, Carter Disney looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Bennett Loeffler relieved him and did a solid job, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over four innings pitched.

Looking ahead, Archbishop Murphy is taking a road trip to take on Stanwood at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Edmonds-Woodway, they will take on Lynnwood at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
