Basketball Recap: Lawrenceburg Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Lawrenceburg's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They took down the Rushville Lions 45-31. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Lions are ranked 333rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Noah Knigga continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Landen Nagele, who posted ten points.

Despite the loss, Rushville saw an underclassman step up: freshman Emmett Knecht put up five points.

Lawrenceburg's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Rushville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Lawrenceburg wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 74-44 loss against Greenfield-Central on the 21st. As for Rushville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 42-37 defeat against Seton Catholic on the 21st.
